Reading sits 40 minutes from our Hayes (UB4) base via the M4, junction 11 — well inside our standard 25-mile no-surcharge radius. We cover DJ hire for weddings, milestone birthdays, school proms, corporate events and private parties across Reading and the surrounding RG postcodes (RG1, RG2, RG4, RG5, RG6, RG30, RG31, plus RG7 and RG10 villages).
What our DJ hire actually includes
You get a professional DJ for the duration you book, a premium PA system appropriate to the room size, wireless microphones for speeches and toasts, dance-floor lighting, and pre-event planning calls so the playlist reflects what you actually want. For weddings we handle the introductions, first-dance run-up and any cake-cut / bouquet timings if you’d like.
We don’t subcontract. The DJ you speak to on the planning call is the DJ who plays at your Reading event. For the full breakdown of our disco service — equipment, playlists, set lengths and what’s included as standard — see our main Disco Hire page.
Reading venues we cover
Reading has a strong mix of country-house wedding venues, modern hotels and corporate spaces. Common venues in and around Reading include:
- Royal Berkshire Hotel, Sunninghill — country-house style, strict 11pm sound cut-off in the marquee.
- Wokefield Estate, Mortimer — indoor ballroom and a marquee field.
- Hennerton Golf Club, Wargrave — riverside outdoor weddings and the indoor clubhouse.
- Holiday Inn Reading West / Hilton Reading — mid-size ballroom weddings, corporate Christmas parties.
- Madejski Stadium (Reading FC) — corporate hospitality suites and main event spaces.
- Caversham Heights, Tilehurst & Earley private venues — townhouse 40ths and 50ths along the Thames.
- The Mansion House (Reading town centre) — civic events and charity galas.
If your venue isn’t listed, just send us the name and postcode when you enquire — we either know it or we’ll check the constraints (sound limit, parking, access) before quoting.
Sound limits and timings (where Reading venues catch people out)
Many Reading hotels and country-house venues run a venue-installed decibel limiter on the mains — exceed the threshold and the power cuts. We bring our own SPL meter, run the build-up so peak volume hits between 9pm and 10pm, and never blast straight in at midnight. Where there’s an 11pm cut-off in the marquee or ballroom, we structure the set so the loudest songs land in the 60-minute window before.
Frequently asked questions for Reading DJ bookings
Do you charge extra for a Reading event given the distance from Hayes?
No. Reading is well within our 25-mile no-surcharge radius via the M4.
Can you handle decibel-limited Reading venues?
Yes — we bring an SPL meter and plan the set so peak volume is well within the venue’s threshold.
How far ahead should I book a summer Saturday in Reading?
For June–September weddings, 8–12 months ahead is normal. For milestone birthdays and corporate parties, 3–6 months is plenty.
Are you insured?
Yes — £5m public liability, with PAT-tested kit. We send certificates to your venue on request.
